The name is derived from the symbols for &#8220;Registered Trademark&#8221; and &#8220;Trademark&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ae\u2122ark is itself a registered corporation which brings together activists who plan projects with donors who fund them. It thus operates outside the laws governing human individuals, and benefits from the much looser laws governing corporations.\u00a0\u00ae\u2122ark receives project ideas from internet users, then lists them.\u00a0Each listed project has its own discussion list (linked from the project). When a project requires a bit of funding to be accomplished, sometimes investors will step up to the plate and offer their help. Even more often, people will offer non-financial help or feedback.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ae\u2122ark claimed as its first prank the &#8220;<a href=\"\/wiki\/barbie-liberation-organization\/\">Barbie Liberation Organization<\/a>&#8220;, in which the voiceboxes of talking Barbie and G.I.
