I agree with him in that artists always try to convey a message either to push for change or just to raise awareness for a certain issue. I think that my walk-up line reform is similar in that I am trying to push for change on something that I feel passionate about. If people take their art and make it have a purpose then it can really go a long way in instigating change, exactly what I am hoping for as well.
\nIn Rick Lowe’s Project Road Houses, he appears to be taking something that is broken and no longer functional, and making them into a public and useful good. These old and abandon homes were left to rot until Lowe came along and found purpose for them in many ways. I see similarities to my project in this in that the old walk-up line system was broken and no longer functional and I want to come in and fix it up so that it is a useful good for all people that want to take part next year. I hope that, similar to Rowe, my passion for change and reform in this specific case go a long way in changing people’s minds about walk-up line and giving it another shot next year. If someone with a vision comes in, then there is no limit to what they can accomplish with limited resources and funds.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mjsymuleski.com\/artofthemooc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/AbandonedHouseDelray.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mjsymuleski.com\/artofthemooc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/AbandonedHouseDelray.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mjsymuleski.com\/artofthemooc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/AbandonedHouseDelray-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mjsymuleski.com\/artofthemooc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/AbandonedHouseDelray-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
In Finkelpearl’s MOOC he talks about how some Artists think that with their art they are solving problems and ultimately trying to save the world.
