He gives it very briefly as a part of a list. The name of the location/place, however, really captivated me, as it sounded mystical almost. Upon deeper research, I found that Andy Warhol’s factory, or “The Factory,” actually refers to three different places between 1962 and 1984. Not only was this place an art studio, but a hub for parties, hip artists, and methamphetamine users. A variety of works were created from within the factory as well, such as music, sexual radicals, and movies. To operate the factory, Warhol attracted a barrage of drug addicts, adult film stars, musicians and free thinkers. The space in general seems to have greatly affected and likely enabled Warhol to be so free-spirited and creative, and I think this sort of place goes to show how impactful the environment in which someone works truly is/can be.

Celebrate Andy Warhol’s Birthday By Visiting 10 of His NYC Haunts

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Factory

In lecture one of 2.2, Pedro mentions Andy Warhol’s factory.
