The 1970s feminist movement piece of art, called “Womanhouse,” featured dozens of famous female artists of the time. One of the most striking aspects of the exhibition was the performance of “Waiting” by Faith Wilding. The performance is eerie, and conveys the monotonous, repetitive cycle of a woman’s life in which she is constantly waiting for her life to start while she constantly is addressing the needs of others. Faith Wilding is siting in a chair, rocking back and forth while monotonously saying the term “waiting.” This art goes to prove the impact that eerie art can have on people, and the nature and behind it’s spooky display results in a strong tie to emotion for viewers, giving a glimpse into the darkness felt by oppressed women.<\/p>\n
