Paterno was a legend on campus for how good of a football coach he was earning the title as the most winningest coach in the NCAA top division 1 football league. The school had a bronze sculpture of Paterno created and installed right outside the football stadium for the contributions he had made to the University&#8217;s football program. In November of 2011 the Sandusky ( Paterno&#8217;s assistant coach) rape allegations went viral leading to Paterno&#8217;s dismal from the football program. Although many people today have their own opinions on Paterno&#8217;s involvement and actions during his time spent coaching with Jerry Sandusky, there was a large debate throughout the Happy Valley, PA community on the removal of his statue. There is a documentary called Happy Valley that surrounds the entire issue that highly recommend watching.
