Waste Land is a documentary about artist Vik Muniz who travels to Jardim Gramacho in Rio de Janeiro which is the largest landfill in the world. Workers here spend their day sifting through trash and Muniz not only get’s to know these workers but begins to make beautiful art works of the workers using the trash they work with everyday. I have included the trailer for this astonishing documentary and encourage everyone to watch the magnificent transformation Muniz does with the trash and impact he makes on the workers and communities lives.
