The topic of this week’s lecture, public art, is interesting, as this new trend in the art world is producing new and unique projects and pieces that cause people to take a second look at what is being produced, why it was made, and where it should be placed to garner the greatest reaction. I found an article titled, “Bizarre Works of Public Art from All Over the World,” and encourage everyone to check it out. It goes through 20 of the strangest and most interesting public art that has been produced over the past couple of years. I liked this article not only because I got to see some weird art but also because it showed international art, a factor I think can be forgotten when discussing public art. The type of public art can vary greatly based on what country you are in, and this article gives a nice overview of this difference.
