A memorial to Lucy Colquhoun (Walford):
45 books stacked in front of the home, where Lucy Colquhoun Walford died on 11 May 1915 (17 Warwick Square, Pimlico, London). A prolific writer, she published 45 books in her lifetime whilst raising two sons and five daughters. The title of the piece is derived from the patronizing praise she received from a leading male critic of the day for embracing her “primary” role as a “mother”, her children were… ”never put aside for her work.”
The first in a possible series of temporary memorials/monuments to woman.
