Be honest with yourself right now. Have you ever wished you could just move to a place where ‘x, y, & z’ did not exist? Or how about where ‘x, y, & z’ only existed? I think at some point in everyone’s life they say these types of things to themselves as we proceed through life where we inevitably encounter a range of things that we do not necessarily agree with nor support the function of. It’s normal. I’ll speak for myself here on out. I have thought these things many times before. The amount of blue prints I have strung throughout my imagination range from exotic islands to aqua pods resting on the ocean floor. But that’s the extent of my actions I have taken in terms of acknowledging these foundations I both strongly agree with and strongly disagree with. Regardless of how dramatic these portrayals of idealistic realities may come streaming out of my mouth to whoever will listen, people do actually act on them and move or even create alternative societies to which they can function best within.
The link above is an article that reveals nine existing utopias. Each place is different and unique in it’s own way. It’s not just cool and different, it’s admirable. People who have enough passion to pursue their lives to create and or commit to these alternative societies really make me question my own pursuits I’ve taken in my young life and also inspire me to take furthering actions for living my life in way I can function best. I hope to some extent these nine places have an uplifting affecting on you too.
