Experiential Education

I tutored middle school students as part of my service learning course requirement, and I’ve found that multiple schools in Durham has changed their traditional ways of teaching science: now they adopt more games and interactive methodologies in students’ learning experience. That’s an excellent epitome of experiential education.

Experiential education is a philosophy of education that describes the process that occurs between a teacher and student that infuses direct experience with the learning environment and content. As technology advances, the knowledge is learned in unorthodox ways. And experiential education is one of the best formats to engage students with up-to-date information modules and build up social skills.
