We all have different faces. Although there are people who resemble each other, face is a distinct feature of an individual and has been used as a way to identify someone. That is why criminals usually wear a mask: they want to hide their identity.
Although mask is often used by criminals, it could also be used to empower people. In the movie ‘V for vendetta’, the citizens of London use the mask to hide their identity and unite as a group by wearing same masks. The mask took away their fear of getting identified and being punished and gave a sense of unity, which in the end helped the citizens to overthrow a dictatorship.
A group of people wearing same masks is very interesting to me because by wearing masks, people erase their identity, but at the same time, create a bigger and stronger identity as a group.
