2BENAMEDÂ was an exhibition that took place at the Naming Gallery in Oakland. The artwork came from a group that called referred to themselves as the “Art Party Collective” which comprised of a group of kids from 15-21. The kid’s main goal was the capture the “hyphy of Oakland subculture”. In general the Naming Gallery presents itself as an underground street art show. Much of Art Party Collective members created artwork that would mock traditional teenage voices surrounding sex, drugs, free spirited experiences, and so on. However, The Naming Gallery did not just write these kids off like most perhaps would have done given the content of their works corresponding with their experiences these works embarked from.
